Baby's IRD Number

Parents can now apply for their baby's IRD number when they register the birth with the Department of Internal Affairs. Parents need IRD numbers for their children to be able to receive Working for Families Tax Credits.
It is now as simple as ticking a box on the birth registration form to confirm that you would like an IRD number for your child.
If the baby's birth has already been registered, you will need to apply for an IRD number in the usual way.
